We often put blame on others when it comes to not being as successful as we want to. Often time we get stuck in a career that we dislike based on salary or lack of knowledge on how to improve in our passions. Going after your passion in life can sometimes bring about other concerns we rarely think about when attending school. Society has made it known that to make something out of yourself, higher education is the way to go. We tend to forget about the time & energy that goes into finishing that degree and often time the cost.
According to MarketWatch.com, “Nearly 70% of bachelor’s degree recipients leave school with debt.”
That stat alone should tell us that this is more than an issue, it’s an epidemic. We can cure this epidemic by:
1st: Educating ourselves on debt.
2nd: Mentoring the youth so that they can be knowledgeable about the career paths that coincides with their passions.
3rd: Picking the right path in life, whether it is higher education or not.
My journey through college was definitely a LONG one. I went from knowing what career choice I wanted and going to the college that will get me to doing something I would love doing. Let me tell you how wrong I was. I knew I loved computers and working with them but the only career choice I knew about was computer engineering. I set my eyes on what I knew was going to best journey but that all came crashing down when I realize it was definitely something I didn’t want to do. Boy oh boy was I in for a rude awakening… I constantly told myself a career with computers is what I want. So I kept trying and trying and trying until I realized it was different career paths dealing with computers. I questioned WHY didn’t I do my research on this before wasting all this loan money? WHY when I told teachers and counselors what I love doing that didn’t steer me in the right direction? WHY, WHY, WHY was all I kept asking myself. Even with all the unanswered questions, I kept going to school lost without the slightest clue on what it was I wanted to do with my life. Here I am constantly wasting money. I was so stuck on graduating college that I chose any major that would get me that degree. I didn’t think about my passions in life. All I thought about was walking across that stage. That was all that mattered to me, reaching that GOAL!
The path we choose to walk will determine our journey… We all have a different path that we are walking when it comes to making the next steps in life. When you don’t try to be like everyone else, that is when you will reach your best potential in life. Regardless if you choose the path to be miserable in your career but have a great salary or if you chose to go for your passions in life and might not be where you want to be financially. What matters is that you are still fulfilling what you want out of life and that you’re still on a journey that lets you determine your next goals out of life. Remember that every decision and lesson that you have encountered has strengthen you to become a better YOU!!!
Be satisfied with the journey you’re on because it is constantly changing!

I really love this! Great job. I was just saying this today. Keep it up.
