The Strength of a Woman

Often time women hold in so much just to stop from crying. We try to overcome whatever issues we tend to be dealing with by masking our feelings with a smile. In the words of Kirk Franklin, “I smile, even though I hurt see I smile

I know God is working so I smile

Even though I’ve been here for a while

I smile, smile

It’s so hard to look up when you been down

Sure would hate to see you give up now

You look so much better when you smile, so smile,”.
Why is it that we have to mask what we are feeling? Is it because we get stereotyped into a category of “mad woman”?

Often times I wonder why I wasn’t strong enough to consider the strength God blessed me. I used to constantly bring myself down even when others saw me as strong and wise. I had to realize that growth comes in time. Mentally my mind wasn’t ready to overcome the pain I endured from my past but I constantly smiled through that pain. I masked it as best as I could until I had to admit to myself that I wasn’t okay. Even though I journaled my thoughts and it seemed like that wasn’t enough to wipe away the pain.

I had to learn that God was my only saving grace. God was the only one who could deliver me from the hurt and the pain that I felt. I know most people don’t believe in God for anything but when you have proof of the change, there is no denying the greatness that lies in the hands of God.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

— Proverbs 31:25

God has given us strength and we are not to fear the future of what is to come. Whether that is heartbreak, love, happiness, death, loss of job, etc. anything you fear, God can comfort you. The strength of a woman can move mountains. The key to moving that mountain is having the faith to know you can. God has equipped us with the one necessary tool to uncover being delivered completely from pain, heartache and disappointment. It is in his word: the HOLY BIBLE!

Today I ask you to declare victory over your pain, disappointments or whatever it is you are going through. We are strong, mighty & victorious women and we will not let fear take ahold of us. The strength of a woman can’t be taken for granted fellas. Let’s try to uplift, encourage and inspire. Fellas remember that it was a woman who gave birthed to you and loved you unconditionally. Women we have to stay confident in who we are. Just because you have endured doesn’t mean you have to stay that way. Stay humble!!!

Turn your burdens over to the LORD, and he will take care of you.He will never let the righteous person stumble. -Psalm 55:22
