3 Things to Stop Stressing About

If you haven’t noticed, there are so many things happening in the world today that deserve a lot more attention than most things we stress about. We have natural disasters destroying people lives in the blink of an eye, we have a President that does not give a crap about the state of our country and we have people begging on our street corners due to homelessness. There are people that are dealing with real issues who have the right to be stressed but in today’s society we stress about the things some people wish they had…
1. Being Trendy

We are so pressed to stay up-to-date on the latest trends that we forget that we actually have bills to pay. There are so many ways to stay on top of the latest trends without going broke but our mentality is so screwed up that we feel that we have to dress in designer to have status. Why try to impress people that don’t even know who you are? People would rather have their lights turned off or no food on their table just to have on the latest trends. Or they make sure their kids have on the newest pair of J’s. If you can’t afford it, quit buying it. We need to learn what type of lane we are in when it comes to our finances. It’s okay to not be on the same level as your friends or family. If your friend or favorite celebrity is at a status that you want to be at, figure out how they did it and then set goals on how to accomplish it. There are many celebrities and successful individuals talk about how they got to where they are today on sites such as GoalCast, The Muse, & Success Stories Magazine. It doesn’t hurt to ask or research.

2. Being in Love

Everyone wants that happily ever after story and it is perfectly fine to want something so fulfilling. One thing many people tend to forget is, it doesn’t happen when you want it to. Just because you feel it is time, God might feel otherwise, so why stress yourself out about it. I had to learn this one for myself. I thought that maybe if I was in love and had someone, I would be more happy with myself. That was a LIE. I was still unhappy with my life and that did nothing but bring out my insecurities with myself which ultimately affected my relationship. Stressing out over love is not healthy nor is it fun. Remember LOVE is an added bonus to your life, not a requirement you need to fulfill it.

3. Paying your Bills

Now this is a hard one for me because I’m stressed the holy heck out!!! I just recently moved out on my own (Yep I’m LATE to the game lol) and who knew all these bills came into play. I was paying everything down to $0 because I assumed that’s what I should do. In the end, it was leaving me with no spending money and going into my savings was a no no because in my head I was thinking what’s the point of a savings if you never can keep nothing in it. My friends stated that it’s okay to pay after the due date as long as you are not to far behind in paying it in full. I honestly struggle with this philosophy because along with paying late adds late fees which I want to avoid. My friends had to explain to me that why stress over something that you are going to pay anyway. As long as you are working, you are able to pay your bills. Finances are a tricky subject to speak on because most people don’t want you to know they are struggling or in need of help. In my opinion stressing over bills that you can’t pay on the due date can cause you to go into depression or have anxiety.


STOP stressing over things you have no control over and take control over the situation. STOP stressing over trying to be the next Kim K or Oprah unless you are willing to put in the work ethic. STOP stressing over not having someone to love you unconditionally because God already does. Stress can lead to so many health concerns that many have lost their lives to. Let’s focus on becoming a better YOU and leaving the unnecessary stress behind.

  1. This blog is truly important because stress is the number one thing in life that kills people and most people don’t even know it.. Please STOP STRESSING it is very important that we stop stressing over things we absolutely can not change that are just out of our control. I always like to just let people know take it one day at a time till things get better, because things eventually do get better. I really do enjoy reading your thoughts on things people struggle with on a daily basis and ways that can help them fight through whatever their going through while staying positive and leveled headed and keeping God first. I honestly hope your blogs touch someone in a positive way because your an awesome writer that writes with so much passion. I feel it every time I read one of your writings. I desperately hope someone out there reap the benefits of reading this blog, because I know someone reading this might just needed to hear some of these real life situations we all as humans struggle with. Loved reading this thank you so much for sharing with us!!!
